Does the app work offline?

Yes, the app is designed to work with no internet connection. But data is required for initial configuration. To synchronize data with the server, ourfish uses data packets that are very small so these can be stored on basic devices with minimum specifications. The default sync frequency is every 1 hour which can be changed to 6 hours, daily or weekly if connectivity is only occasional or data plans are restrictive/expensive. Sync can also be performed manually. The app will synchronize to upload information to the AWS database when connected to a cell phone network or wifi connection. The app is fully functional with no connection, but the data is not incorporated into the aggregate data or accessible for incorporation in reports without synchronization.
