Fish Forever conducted a survey to 70 Local Government Units in 6 countries to understand the impact and initial responses of these coastal municipalities. See full narrative report here.
As an Advisory Network member of the High Level Panel on Sustainable Ocean Economy, Rare was asked to review and edit the Ocean Panel’s blue paper on A Sustainable and Equitable Blue Recovery to the COVID-19 Crisis. This paper provides inputs and context for governments to move to a Blue Recovery. See posted blog on the key messages relevant for SSF and coastal NBS.
As member of the Friends of Ecosystem- Based Adaptation, Rare contributed to the joint FEBA- PEDRR policy brief Promoting Nature-based Solutions in the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework.
Rare’s experience in the implementation of Marine Spatial Planning to the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. In decision XIII/9, the CBD COP encouraged Parties to apply marine spatial planning in areas within their jurisdiction or enhance existing marine spatial planning initiatives in these areas, and to provide submissions on implementation experience, a compilation of submissions (CBD/SBSTTA/22/INF/14) can be seen here https://www.cbd.int/doc/c/79ea/5bd0/6a03d42fb35b57d524368aa7/sbstta-24-inf-01-en.pdf
