The reserves provide effective protection of habitat, sustain fish populations, and replenish fishing grounds. Networks of Managed Access with Reserves balance protection with sustainable production for multi-species fisheries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recording how many people fish in coastal waters, how much fish is being caught and changes in the extent and quality of habitats are essential data to measure the status of the resources that underpin the wellbeing and resilience of coastal communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
